Setting your file
There are a couple of things to consider when designing for printing that you should always have in mind. Think first of the kind of fabric you will be printing on, whether it will be silk or cotton. Remember to check the size of the graphic Also think of whether you will be print in black and white or color. If color makes sure you do not use eight colors. Note that most machines may not handle more than eight colors and also that the higher the number of colors, the higher the cost of printing. Then again most of the screen printers available in the market can only handle up to eight colors.
Prepping the print
The prepping print is not very necessary when you are doing digital printing. However, when it comes to inkjet printing, prepping is necessary. Digital printing will be good enough when you are doing small jobs. Most often, t-shirts designs are screen printed. This requires separating the different colors into different layers. When using screen printing Brisbane the printer need to access each color separately. This requires the printer having access to each color used in the t-shirt design.
How you do this in Adobe illustrator and Photoshop are slightly different. In Photoshop, it is as easy as copying the different colors using the magic wand into separate layers. In illustrator, it is a bit different but just as well simple. The key is to finding the color palette. You use the trim function to select all items on the design and then use the magic wand to select each color, and all related colors will be highlighted. You can then unite these colors with the Pathfinder palette. You can now be able to create separate layers.
After creating your designs, you can use mockups to market them. Mockups are prints that appear on digital t-shirts.
